SUSTAINable Additive Manufacturing

using Smart Hybrid Powders and PROcess Control

Mission

SustainPRo (TED2021-129895B-I00) is a R&D Programme focused on Additive Manufacturing and funded by the Spanish Government for the period starting from December 2022 to December 2025. It constitutes a set of research works to showcase the potential of additive manufacturing supporting Circular Economy by offering new materials, allowing design freedom, implementing sustainable manufacturing, providing better products and simplifying resource recapture.

Research

The final goal is to develop new knowledge on Additive Manufacturing and Circular Economy, bringing up relevant research results to the society and industry, with the help of the five laboratories involved in the programme and the participation of associated companies interested in the results. It is expected a great deal of results transferable to the industry.

Consortium

The consortium is formed by 6 research groups: 5 groups from four public Universities in Madrid (UC3M, UCM, UPM, URJC) and 1 group from CSIC (ICV), involving more than 60 PhDs.

SUSTAINPRO's objective is to develop a new fluidized bed technology that enables the large-scale development of new hybrid powders, which can be used in additive manufacturing processes.
